Just came back from Daytona and was on the interstate at 70 mph. Mornings seemed better than night. Winds got high at night and I was blown around quite a bit. So was my SO on his Yamaha Royalstar. I was less than 1/2 the weight with me and my bike than he was. You can imagine how windy that was. He has a windshield and I don't. May get one for long distance riding. I did decide if I were to take a long distance trip I should have a bigger bike, like a V-Star 1100. That won't be for a few years. I am also only on my second year of riding. Never rode when I was younger. Did demo a Maruader and there's 100 lbs difference in weight and I could feel the difference. Happened to be windy and I wasn't thrown around as much. Also, the small gas tank on the Savage can be a problem. I foirget about that in the excitement and ran out of gas at 70 mph. I remembered the direction for reserve! Was the first time out on the bike this year since it's snowing up here today. Spring will be long coming now. I have taken the white spacer out and put a Supertrapp muffler. Although the muffler has already turned blue. Any suggestions on the blueing?
